Yes, you have two options:

Through our sales partner WIEN TICKET, you can purchase tickets online and redeem them later. Please contact us so we can find and book a suitable date for your tour. If you’re thinking of giving this ticket as a gift, you’ll find suitable templates here that you can print out at home.

A guided tour lasts about 50 minutes. Please arrive about 10 minutes before the tour begins.

A visit to the exhibition and participation in a guided tour are only possible after prior registration and receipt of a booking confirmation.

There are no language, mental or physical restrictions for participation in HANDS UP. Guided tours for children under the age of 8 (1st and 2nd grade primary schools) and children in kindergarten age are very individual and only possible by prior arrangement.

Yes, of course! However, we emphasise grouping individuals together, as this enhances the experience!

Yes!
A maximum amaount of 30 perticipants can start at one time within a booked time slot. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour, and we ask that you arrive approximately 10 minutes before the start time.

If you plan to come with more than 30 participants, you will need book a second time slot.
For large groups, we recommend stopping outside of our exhibition area, for example, in the Augarten (a 10-minute walk away).

We are dependent on timely planning of our appointment and personnel capacities. If you are unable to keep an agreed appointment, please contact us in good time, at least one to two days before the event, in the interests of both parties. Cancellation of the entire booking must be made both by telephone and in writing.

We try to keep our cancellation policy relaxed! This means that if you let us know the current number of participants one or two days in advance, everything should work out fine, even if one or two people are missing on the day of the event. However, if “half” of the group suddenly drops out, the absent person would be charged 50% of the admission price. However, the reality is that this rarely happens.

HOW HANDS UP BECOMES AN EXPERIENCE:

From the beginning of the tour, we no longer use spoken language.
We always maintain eye contact with the deaf guides.
We are quiet.
In addition, you can find more information about the contents of our exhibition HERE.

Yes, as a travelling exhibition HANDS UP ON TOUR

For groups from Vienna, we recommend visiting our location at Hollandstraße 14, 1020 Vienna. For groups from other provinces and groups of 75 people or more, we are also happy to come to you!

Yes! We have a stair lift at the entrance (4 steps) and a barrier-free toilet.

HANDS UP is an interactive experience that gently and humorously introduces visitors to the world of sign language. On this exciting journey, hearing people experience the beauty of deaf culture and the practice of non-verbal communication.

The aim is to break down barriers towards deaf people in a safe space and build bridges between the hearing and deaf worlds.
How does it feel to not be able to hear? What barriers are there? How can you communicate even if you don’t speak the same language? What do facial expressions and body language convey? Why is sign language not international?
All this and much more can be experienced together.

Absolutely! Participating in HANDS UP can make an important contribution to social learning and the promotion of social and personal skills.

To promote diversity!
Immerse yourself in a foreign world, experience new things, discover linguistic and cultural diversity! Feel what it might be like to hear nothing. It has been shown time and again that people who have had positive experiences with deaf people (but also with other minorities) carry a positive attitude towards this group into their later social environment.
